Ogmore Vale RFC travelled to Rhigos in this week’s league fixture. A win away at Rhigos has always been hard to come by but this weekend saw the away side come home with all 4 important points.
The game started quietly, and Ogmore Vale took the lead through a nicely struck Gareth Powell penalty. 0-3. The home side responded in great fashion when they crossed the whitewash to make it 5-3.
Both sides threw everything to try increase their respective score lines with both defences battling hard to keep the opposition out. Poor discipline from both sides saw yellow cards flourished, Rhigos totally 3 and the away side receiving two. Another two penalties converted by Gareth Powell allowed Ogmore Vale to win the hard-fought match 9-5. Great defence at the end saw Ogmore Victorious.
A very good win away from home and continues their fine form after collecting their first win of the season last time out.
Ogmore Vale travel to Whitchurch RFC in a rearranged shield game where they will hope to progress into the second round.
