After 10 week absence it was finaly time for Ogmore to return to the action in League 3 West Central C where they faced a long trip to Ammanford to play Pontyates. Ogmore had to usher the changes from last time out with players like Dan Clarke, James Fuge and young talent Thomas Dunn absent from todays squad. But there was no lack of confidence with their replacements as veteran international Steve Lyons and Paul Smith came in to help Ogmore Dominate the scrum throughout. Possesion favoured Ogmore early on as the forwards bullied their rivals but could not manage to cross the whitewash, questions of a penalty try were raised but denied and after conceding four penalties in a row the Captain pointed at the post's with young sharpshooter Kane Ryan Jones slotting one over to put Ogmore 0-3 ahead. The rest of the half became a scrappy affair with the home side on the offensive, at least four line breaks were stopped in their tracks with try saving tackles from Kane Ryan Jones, Jonathan Pickett and captain Sam Griggs.
In the second half it pretty much started as the first ended this time the home team levelled the game with a penalty of their own. But the home side really struggled with Ogmores dominance up front and in the scrum they stared to fade away. As they got on the referees back and their dicipline faded Ogmore re-took the lead with another penalty and the home captain was sent to the touchline with a yellow card. This allowed Ogmore to dominate more but as it looked they were about to cross the whitewash on permit local boy Karl Jones dropped the ball stopping him from going over in the corner. Three penalties were added to the Ogmore total by the golden boot of fly-half Kane Ryan Jones as the home sides defence started to get desperate thorugh frustration 3-12. An intercepted try by flying winger Jonathan Pickett finished the game off for Ogmore with burley centre Mike James kicking the conversion to make the final score Pontyates 3 - 19 Ogmore Vale.
