Ogmore Vale RFC dreams came to a crushing end this weekend when they travelled to Hollybush RFC. The away side travelled with excitement as they have excelled in the Shield this year dreaming of the possibility of going all the way.
Hollybush RFC who ply their trade in Division 3 East C, currently sit third in the league only losing one of six fixtures played took control of the game from the off. The home side raced into the lead early on and didn’t look back from there. A well drilled outfit went three scores clear at half time only for Ogmore Vale RFC to have 3 points to their name. 24-3 half time.
The Second half continued in the same fashion with the home side stretching further in front. An emphatic victory from the home side who won the game 31-10 and progress into the quarter finals. Ogmore Vale’s sole try came from scrum half Gareth Powell which was the only highlight in what was a forgetful day.
Next week Ogmore Vale RFC return in the league where they face Pontyates RFC at home. A much-needed win would be vital before the Christmas break to improve their position in the league standings.
