As storm Calum blew through the south wales valleys it felt like a storm at hit Ogmore Vale RFC with a very one sided first half. An Early penalty by Ogmore fly-half Kane Ryan Jones seen us take a short lived lead untill Penygroes crashed over the the try line twice within 8 minutes to take the score to 14-3 going into the half. Fly Half Kane Ryan Jones was Yellow carded for ill dicipline which certainly made the uphill struggle even steeper. Second Half started much the brighter for Ogmore but yet again ill dicipline cost them as they found thelmselfs conceding a penalty just outside the 22 which was converted by Penygroes making the score 17-3. Then came the change, the pacey hooker Steve Lyons entering the field as replacement was straight in the action from the off. Then a sudden burst from a messy ruck left Lyons in space and eventually he crashed over the line to score. With the conversion by Kane Ryan Jones it left Ogmore trailing by a score but as the legs got week it opened up for penygroes to cross the line and convert before the ref blew his whistle for the last time. Final Score Penygroes 24 - 10 Ogmore Vale.
